At Myant, we are creating the world’s first textile computing platform, integrating technology directly into the one thing that we use every day - clothing and textiles. The sensors and actuators embedded within our apparel connect your body to the digital world, creating what we call your Digital Identity. This data is uploaded to the cloud and can be shared with those who matter to you - your doctors, coaches, other IoT devices, your family members - without you consciously having to think about it. Imagine a world where you walk into your house and the temperature automatically adjusts to suit you, or the lights adjust to your mood, or your doctor is aware of the onset of a disease before you even visit. The line between the digital and physical world is becoming increasingly blurry, and we believe textile is the next medium to bridge that gap. Over the next 12-18 months, we are launching a dozen form factors that will cover your body from the neck down. This will give you continuous, bi-directional access to the body; creating an ambient link between you and others, and you and AI.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Hardware Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring multiple products from early prototyping to mass production, creating a portfolio of next generation smart clothing products.

To be successful, the candidate must have a strong background in designing bio-sensing electronics and have experience developing, testing and releasing production electronics. Applicants should have a keen eye for solving problems that currently do not have well defined solutions and be able to rapidly design/prototype these ideas. He or she will work with limited supervision and will be accountable for the delivery and critical appraisal of their results.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, textile experts, fashion designers and entrepreneurs to actively participate in the creation and optimization of new products.


  • Research, design and develop state-of-art bio-sensing/actuating mixed-signal electronics for the next generation of smart textiles
  • Rapid prototyping and validation of electrical designs
  • Optimizing designs for power, miniaturization and cost
  • Bring-up PCBs, document bugs, iterate on designs
  • Understanding of RTOS and ability to write application drivers
  • Devising, documenting and executing on test plans
  • Work closely with a variety of people/teams with different disciplines (mechanical, firmware, data science, software, industrial design, textile)
  • Ensure designs are DFM/DFA ready and improve designs based on feedback from CMs
  • Aid in the assembly of prototypes and debug issues on the fly


  • BASc. or MASc. in Electrical engineering or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience with low-power electrical designs
  • Strong circuit analysis/debugging and PCB bring-up
  • Experience working on embedded systems
  • Understanding programming principles associated specifically with embedded systems
  • Previous experience with embedded communication protocols such as UART, I2C, USB, SPI, etc.
  • Experience with BOM management and optimization
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to contribute and work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment


  • Designing electronics for smart clothing or other wearables
  • Strong experience in biometric sensing or actuation (ECG/EMG/EEG to name a few)
  • Basic knowledge of signal processing
  • RTOS development
  • Intermediate command of C++
